I'm Shay, and this is Tahiry, also known as T. My favorite girl, my built-in bestie, my travel partner, and the little human who has somehow mastered the art of testing my patience while looking exactly like somebody I would give my last breath for.
Raising a daughter who has your personality sounds adorable until you realize you're essentially arguing with a younger version of yourself. The attitude? Familiar. The facial expressions? Unfortunately, also familiar. The audacity? I have absolutely no idea where she gets that. 😒
The Lord knew exactly what He was doing. I'm just not sure why He thought I needed this particular character-development exercise.
But here's the thing. I never want to raise a daughter who's afraid to use her voice, stand up for herself, or take up space in this world. I'm raising her to be confident, independent, and unapologetically herself.
And while we may not always agree on who's right (it's me, by the way), there's nobody I'd rather navigate this beautifully chaotic life with.
